Strategic Planning committee

Purpose

The Strategic Planning Committee exists to help the Whisper Lake POA Board take a proactive, long-term approach to community priorities. The committee will identify key opportunities, gather input from across the ownership base, and recommend thoughtful, realistic actions that reflect the values and needs of the community.

Objectives

  • Identify and evaluate long-term needs related to infrastructure, amenities, conservation, growth, and community wellbeing

  • Surface and synthesize input from all property owners—full-time, part-time, and non-resident

  • Maintain a living roadmap that connects long-term goals with clear, actionable priorities

  • Collaborate with existing POA committees to ensure alignment and coordination

  • Recommend strategic actions for Board consideration

Participation

  • Open to all interested property owners
Any Whisper Lake owner is welcome to participate—whether through regular involvement, one-time input, or topic-specific contributions. There is no limit on the number of participants.

  • Core Group (Optional):
A smaller, volunteer coordination group may help facilitate meetings and organize input, but decisions and discussion remain open to all contributors.

  • Board Involvement:
A Board liaison may attend committee meetings to ensure alignment and communication but does not control the agenda or direction.

Meetings & Communication

  • Regular meetings (e.g. quarterly) with flexible attendance

  • Meeting summaries shared with the Board and made available to all owners

  • Additional input gathered through surveys, informal outreach, or working sessions

Deliverables

  • A strategic roadmap updated annually (or as needed), outlining short-, mid-, and long-term goals.

  • Community feedback summaries

  • Recommendations to the Board for consideration in planning and budgeting

Guiding Principles

  • Inclusive: Every owner should feel welcome to participate or contribute

  • Practical: Focus on real priorities, not aspirational fluff

  • Transparent: Share progress, input, and outcomes openly

  • Collaborative: Work across committees and groups to align efforts
